Education Service Center Region 13 is proud to announce the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees as the 2025 Regional Honor Board, a recognition of outstanding leadership and service in support of Texas public education. The board will now advance as a nominee for the Outstanding School Board award, presented annually by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA).
This honor celebrates school boards that demonstrate excellence in governance, a strong focus on student outcomes, and consistent support for district improvement initiatives. The Round Rock ISD Board was selected for its collaborative leadership, forward-thinking decision-making, and commitment to building opportunities for every student in the district.
“The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees sets a high bar for school board leadership in Texas. Their work reflects a deep investment in student success, community engagement, and a long-term vision for the future of education in Central Texas.“
Dr. Rich Elsasser, Executive Director of ESC Region 13
Under the board’s leadership, Round Rock ISD has launched significant initiatives to enhance instructional quality, expand early childhood education, support staff recruitment and retention, and invest in districtwide technology upgrades. The board also guided the successful passage of a $932 million bond—the largest in the district’s history—to support major facility improvements and learning opportunities for students across the district.
The trustees have prioritized continuous improvement not only for the district but for themselves as a governance team. Several members have participated in statewide leadership training programs, and the board’s thoughtful approach to policymaking and transparency has helped build lasting trust with families and community members.
As the Regional Honor Board, the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees is now under consideration for the 2025 Outstanding School Board award, which will be announced during the TASA/TASB Convention this fall.
