The state of Texas has provided updates for the State Test Report for 2024-2025. The article includes information on the 2025 TELPAS, Centralized Reporting System (CRS), and Research Portal updates. Read more for specific dates and details.
2025 TELPAS Reporting
The spring 2025 TELPAS test will be released, so more data will be available for educators and parents than in the past.
Actual student responses to all items in all four domains (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) are part of the released test. Educators will have access to all responses, including the students’ speaking responses, in the CRS, and parents will have access to all responses, including the students’ speaking responses, in the Family Portal.
Access to student responses on the TELPAS test is limited to the years it is released. The 2024 TELPAS test was not released, and the 2026 TELPAS test is not scheduled to be released.
Our new Family Portal video walks parents and guardians through the sign-in process and provides pointers on how to use the Family Portal.
CRS Updates
A new Item Analysis Report is available in CRS. Users can view a general summary of test items (standard assessed, item type, and percentage of students who received full, partial, or no credit for each item).
You can drill down to each item and view the percentage of students who chose each response. A Single Iten View is also available that shows the above information for each item, the actual item and the topic, content alignment, scoring rubric, and scoring rationale for each item.
Due to the unique nature of TELPAS test questions, the TELPAS Item Analysis Reports will only be provided in CRS. No other forms of this report will be provided.
CRS will no longer display the five items with the best or worst performances.
Reminder of TIDE Roles and CRS Access
The following TIDE roles cannot access CRS:
- Online Test Administrator (OTA)
- Test Setup Assistant (STA)
- Campus Technology Staff (CTS)
- District Content User (DCU)
- Student Data Assistant (SDA)
All other roles in TIDE can access CRS. A person’s CRS access level (district or campus) depends on their TIDE role access level. Persons with the Teacher (TE) role in TIDE can only see CRS data for students who are on their current year rosters.
Research Portal Updates
Launched in January 2024, the Research Portal has been updated to include the following capabilities:
- Choose multiple grades, subjects, and domains in select reports
- Combine Spanish and English tests in select reports
- Search for districts within a region
- Select all demographic variables
- Upload a list of County District Campus (CDC) codes to search
- Download reports, including CDC codes
